Create a custom field
Custom fields let you create your own dimensions and measures using BRQL to meet specific reporting needs. This article explains how to create a custom dimension or a custom measure.

- Open a report
- Select Edit
- Select + Create new
- Select Create Dimension or Create Measure
- Select the Root table where the custom field should be created
- Enter a Display name for the custom field
- Review or edit the auto-populated BRQL name
- Enter a Description to summarise the result of the custom field
- Select the Data type for the custom field
- If Number is selected, choose the Numeric type
- Enter the BRQL Expression
- Select OK
