Apply window calculations

Window calculations allow you to perform advanced analysis on measures by evaluating values across groups of rows in a report.

This article explains how to apply window calculations to a measure and configure its calculation type, subtype, and calculation elements.

Before using window calculations, see Understand window calculations to learn how the different calculation types, subtypes, and calculation elements work.

1. Open the report
2. Select Edit
3. Select a measure from the Selected fields pane
4. Select None beside Window calculation
5. Hover over a calculation type:
   1. Temporal: applies calculations across time-based periods
   2. Visual: applies calculations based on the current report layout
6. Hover over a calculation subtype
7. Select the calculation option you want to apply
8. If applicable, configure the partitioning, ordering, and framing settings
9. Select OK
