Advanced export options
This guide explains the advanced export options available in Better Reports. Use these options to customise file formats, control data structure, and optimise exports for other tools.
The advanced options are accessible from the export menu under Advanced options. The preselected settings for each export type show the default configuration used when exporting a report.

Excel exports
Include title
Choose whether to display the report title at the top of the report
Include filters
Choose whether to display the report filters at the top of the report
PDF exports
Page orientation
Choose Portrait or Landscape. This controls the orientation of the PDF.
Scale
Adjust how the report is resized to fit on the page. This controls how the content is scaled so it appears clearly within the chosen page layout.
Paper size
Select a paper size such as Letter (8.5” × 11”) or A4, depending on your printing requirements.
Margins
Set the amount of white space around the content. Options include Normal, Narrow, and Wide.
Page numbers
Choose whether page numbers appear at the bottom of each page.

CSV exports
Delimiter
Choose whether the file uses a comma, semicolon, pipe, or tab delimiter. This is useful when working with regional spreadsheet settings.
UTF-8 encoding
By default, CSV exports do not include a UTF-8 BOM. Enabling it can improve compatibility in applications that expect a BOM when handling accented or non-English characters. If you’re unsure whether you need it, leave this option disabled.
