Export a report

You can export any report in Better Reports to save, share, or analyse your data outside the app.

This article explains how to export a report using the default export options.

For advanced settings, such as choosing delimiters, including report titles or filters, or setting page margins, see Advanced export options.

💡 Better Reports relies on Google Sheets to export all file types except CSV.

For large or complex datasets, some export types may fail. In these cases, export as CSV, as CSV files are generated directly by Better Reports.

Export a report
  1. Open the report
  2. Select Export
  3. Select a Format (CSV, Excel, PDF or HTML)
  4. Select Download

The exported file is downloaded to your device, usually to the Downloads folder.

💡 Images in exports

Images are only supported in PDF and HTML exports, or in Google Sheets when using scheduled reports.

They are not supported in Excel or CSV exports.

To improve readability in PDF exports, use Advanced export options to adjust layout settings such as page orientation and margins.

To export a report with images in spreadsheet format, schedule the report to upload to Google Drive as a Google Sheets file.

💡 Bar/Line charts and Scatter plots cannot be exported as images. When exported, they are converted to Table format.

To capture a chart, take a screenshot in Better Reports. You can also export the table data and recreate the chart in a spreadsheet tool such as Excel or Google Sheets.
