Better Reports has two standard reports we create on request to help with taxes.
There is also a built-in ‘Tax collected per month’ matrix report showing tax amount collected by tax name by month.
The first recommended custom report shows the monthly tax amount collected for each tax name (counties). You can see the standard format and included fields below.
The report can be filtered for select shipping states, customers or products as needed.
Because a sale can be associated with multiple tax names (both state and county), we also recommend creating a report that shows sales measures by tax names in unique combinations.
You can see an example report below showing the monthly sales measures by tax names combinations.
This can be refined with filters or can even be split to show taxable vs. non-taxable sales!
